“You shouldn’t have to wait for a mortgage or infinite budget to live in a home that supports a joyful and eco-friendly life.”

Lara Woodfern

(she/her)

RIDQC Certified Residential Interior Designer

EcoInteriors combines Lara’s life-long passions for sustainability, interior design, and people. With all that is demanded of us from capitalism and uneven domestic socialization, it’s no wonder that many of us struggle to set up or maintain our homes in a way that feels good–let alone sustainable. Without judgement or dogmatic design rules, Lara partners with clients on transforming their spaces to a home they enjoy and one that supports an eco-conscious life. She loves finding that perfect thrift store find that elevates a funky rental kitchen and hearing how past clients finally feel confident to host a game night after working together.

Lara has a couple decades of experience helping people of all ages and life stages organize and decorate their homes, as well as has an MFA in Design for Sustainability. She also is a RIDQC Certified Interior Designer with an interior design certificate from NY Institute of Art + Design. She has worked in energy and waste reduction, housing equity, and bike/walk infrastructure advocacy fields, giving her a social & environmental systems lens to working in the home. Lara especially loves working with queer and neurodivergent folks, bringing affirming and tangible support into daily home life. She brings a gentle and holistic approach to coaching clients in pairing down or finding items that support their unique identities and mental health.

Charlie

(he/him)

Director of Emotional Support

Charlie has been with EcoInteriors since day one. Everyone (including clients) come to him when the day has been a bit ‘ruff’. He reminds us to play and always keep fur babies top of mind while outfitting a space. His deep commitment to mental health and rest bring a warm atmosphere to the studio each day.
